On a Tuesday night, Eltahawy was arrested after spraying paint over what some people might call "anti-Muslim" advertisements, while others might call "anti-Jihad" advertisements. The text that provoked her read: 'In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad.' For the record, the continuous referral to Arabs as savages is like pulling a bull by its horn. Besides the fact that everyone in the region is homogenized into one type of brutalizing human, there has been enough International interference in the region, where one cannot be surprised with the amount of aggression and terror that has been bred. 

According to an article in The Guardian, Mona was not alone in her irritation, because they even offended some prominent Jewish figures who demanded their removal- except, Mona was the first one to take action.
